I do both! I am available for in person sessions on Mondays and Fridays. I offer telehealth on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
I am licensed in both Washington, DC and Virginia.

My fee is $175 for a 55 minute individual session.

I do not accept any insurance plans directly, but I can give you a receipt which you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement using any out of network benefits you may have.
I recommend asking your insurance company the following questions:
Are in person and/or telehealth sessions reimbursable? If so, what is the reimbursement rate? Typically, they will ask you the rate and the billing code. My rate is $175/hr and the code for a 55 minute session is 90837 or 90837-95 respectively.
Do I have a deductible I need to meet?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions I’m allowed?

Upon request, or required if you don’t have any insurance, I can provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” prior to your first appointment. You can read more about it here.
Typically, I like to meet weekly or every other week when I first start working with someone. This gets the work started at a good pace. We can typically taper back as soon as it feels appropriate.

Currently, I only see adult individual clients. I would be happy to offer referrals for Children, Couples or Family Therapists.

When we experience a distressing event or a trauma, sometimes our brains are not able to move out of a "fight or flight" response to it. The event remains current in our lives even though time passes. EMDR is a technique that allows the "thinking" part of our brain to weave into the memory whereby providing insight, changes in the memory, or making new associations possible. EMDR incorporates various modalities including psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, experiential, and body centered therapies. This allows us to address the many places you may store or experience your memories.
During treatment, one of the procedural elements is using either bilateral eye movements, tones or taps while recalling past memories, present triggers, or anticipated future experiences. This will include the body sensations and emotions that accompany it. This approach to therapy is very different from traditional talk therapy and it can be a powerful tool to help the brain process and move through memories in a new way.
